WHAT'S THE MINIMUM HIRE TIME?
Studio One and Two have a minimum hire of 2 hours, Studio Three and Four have a 1 hour minimum.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED IN THE STUDIO?
For health and safety reasons, the max capacity in Studio One is 8 people, for Studio Two it’s 15 people, for Studio Three it is 8 people and Studio Four is 15 people for shoots and around 30 people for events. Any additional people will be asked to leave the premises immediately or your booking will be terminated with immediate effect with no refunding or rescheduling.
IS THERE A WAITING AREA?
Studio One and the Studio Two/Three building have shared waiting areas, which are also used by other businesses. For this reason, a maximum of three people can wait there at any one time, and only for short periods.
Studio Four does not have a waiting area, so we’re unable to accommodate early arrivals. If you do arrive early, we recommend grabbing a tea or coffee at Tuck Shop, just in front of the Monier Works building.
DO ALL STUDIOS HAVE DAYLIGHT?
Studio Two, Studio Three and Studio Four have windows all along and so benefit from the option of natural light. Studio One has two windows in the studio that have natural light passing through, however not enough to use alone as lighting.
IS THE STUDIO A BLACKOUT STUDIO?
Both Studio One and Studio Two have blackout curtains covering the windows and at the moment approximately 80% blackout is achievable.
WHAT IF WE NEED MORE TIME ON THE DAY?
Overtime hours may be available if a client hasn't already booked the hire slot directly after your hire. On the day you will be informed on whether there's a hire afterwards or not.
ARE THE BACKDROPS FREE TO USE?
As well as our cove, one paper backdrop option comes included with every hire of Studio One and Studio Two. For additional backdrop choices/changes there’s an additional charge of £10 per new backdrop request.
Backdrops - £10 per meter soiled (only for the section of fresh paper that is stood on).
for the section of the paper that is stood on there's a charge of £10 per metre (if fresh).
For example, if you rolled a paper out and had 3 metres of fresh paper on the ground but only stood on the first 0.3 metres (30cm) of paper, the charge would be £3 for the 0.3 metres. if you rolled out 3 metres of paper that has already been used by a previous client, there is no charge for standing on the used section.
If there’s a colour you would like us to specifically order for your hire, we can order the standard sized (2.72 x 11 metres) Colorama backdrop for you, for a cost of £100. Please note that at least 3 working days must be given (more ideally as we cannot be held responsible for if the requested backdrop hasn’t arrived by the date/time of your hire).
WHAT COLOUR BACKDROPS DO YOU HAVE?
Our selection of backdrop papers are always changing so if there were a specific colour you wanted to enquire about, please email or call us so we can update you on what's currently in stock.
IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE NEAR THE STUDIO?
For Studio One, Studio Two and Studio Three, metered street parking is available on Cody Road, directly across from the studio buildings in the bays marked in white. Additional parking is available further down Cody Road on the first left, South Crescent, and the first right, North Crescent.
For Studio Four, metered street parking is available nearby on Wyke Road and surrounding roads. Alternatively, St Mark’s Gate Car Park is approximately a 5 minute walk from the studio and may be a more cost-effective option for longer stays. We recommend checking current parking rates and opening times online before travelling.
HOW DO WE GET INTO THE STUDIO?
For Studio One, Studio Two and Studio Three, please call 07983580297 and one of our Studio Assistants will meet you at the entrance to let you in and help you with any bags you may need assistance with.
For Studio Four, your booking confirmation will include an intercom code for entry to the building, along with a lift access code that will take you directly to the Studio Four entrance.
